SUB DISTRICTS: Bang Phlat, Bang O, Bang Bamru, Bang Yi Khan
AREA: 1.360 sq km (4.386 sq mi)
POPULATION: 92,325 (2017)
POSTCODE: 10700
Bang Phlat literally translated means Lost Place, and the name is thought to have originated from the past when there area was overgrown and covered in waterways. People traveling through the district often lost their way and named it after their troubles.
The area has its own MRT Station called Bang Phlat which makes access to the other areas of the city really easy. Bang Phlat also has a main highway running through it called Charan Sanit Wong which runs parallel to the river and up to Rama VII Bridge.
The transport infrastructure makes Bang Phlat a popular area for people who want to live in the city. The daily commute is relatively easy and the prices of property are reasonable.
Although there are some shopping areas and places to eat, Bang Phlat is mostly a mixture of industrial and commercial zones, with plenty of housing developments and residential zones.
Nearby are two zoos, Pata Pinklao and Pata, and there are two interesting temples to visit, Wat Bowon Mongkhon and Wat Kharuehabodi.
Bang Phlat is really a residential suburb, with good access to the rest of Bangkok and plenty of different types of real estate to choose from.
