Arun Ammarin is a sub-district of Bangkok Noi and is located to the northeast of the center of Bangkok.
The main hub of activity in this area centers around Pinklao and Borommaratchachonnani Road, which is home to Central Plaza Pinklao shopping mall, The Sense Pinklao, and SuperSports Pinklao.
Cental Plaza offers fashion, furniture and decoration, health and beauty, a kids shopping area, and a really fine selection of food outlets and restaurants.
Tourist attractions in the nearby vicinity include the National Museum of Royal Barges, and a couple of major temples including Wat Suwannaram Ratchaworawiham, and Wat Rakhang Khositaram Woramaha Wihan.
The former was restored by King Rama I and it was he who named it with its current title. In the formative years of Bangkok it was used as a royal cremation site. Most visitors come to look at the magnificent murals which adorn the walls of the temple, they are considered to be a fine representation of the art that dated back to the foundation of the temple.
Getting around Arun Ammarin is not particularly easy and is mostly done by bus or car. There are no MRT or Skytrain services in this part of Bangkok.
Properties mostly consist of traditional Thai wooden houses, townhouses and an assortment of smaller condominium developments. Real estate prices reflect this and the lack of a good transportation network.
