DISTRICT: Bangkok Noi

POPULATION:  9,549 (2017)

POSTCODE: 10700

Bang Khun Non is a sub-district of Bangkok Noi and can be found to the northwest of Central Bangkok on the west side of the river. Although there are no BTS or MRT services in this part of Bangkok there are many bus routes that pass through here, and of course the river boats which can be accessed at the nearby piers.

The only major shopping mall in the area is Central Plaza Pinklao which can be reached by river boat taxi, and directly over the road is a Major Cineplex.

Further along Charan Sanit Wong Road can be found the supermarkets of Makro and Foodland as well as a Tesco Lotus outlet.

The main tourist attraction of the district are the eight barges that form the National Museum of Royal Barges which is located on the northern rim of Khlong Bangkok Noi.

Close to Bang Khun Non is Bangkok Noi Railway Station that services trains traveling to the west of the capital, in particular Kanchanaburi. The station is quite interesting as it was built in 1900 in a European-style but was destroyed by the Japanese during their occupation. But after the war it was reconstructed as its former self.

There are great temples to visit in the vicinity including, Wat Suwannaram Ratchaworawihan and Wat Rakhang Khositaram Woramaha Wihan. The latter dates back to the Ayutthaya period, and during renovations a huge bell was found which was later moved to Wat Phra Kaew.

Because of the lack of a transportation network property is reasonably priced in Bang Khun Non with many small condominium developments to choose from.
