Bango Sub District

Bango Sub District

DISTRICT: Bang Phlat,

POSTCODE: 10700

Bang O is to the northwest of Bangkok and is a sub-district of Bang Phlat, which was once covered in waterways and heavily overgrown. Often early visitors to the area were constantly getting lost and that is why it is sometimes referred to as the Lost Place.

The main highway running through the area is Charan Sanit Wong and with the MRT line with a station at Bang Phlat make transport access to Bang O really easy. Added to this are the Express River Boat stations at Saphan Krung Thon, and Bang Phlat.

The area is really for commerce and it has a fair share of industrial and commercial zones together with small housing estates and residential areas.

Shopping is mainly on the necessity side of things, with local stores selling food and clothing.

The biggest tourist attractions in the area are Pata and Pata Pinklao zoos, plus two interesting temples Wat Kharuehabodi and Wat Bowon Mongkhon.

Also can be seen the impressive Rama VIII bridge that was completed in 2002. This eight-four cable bridge has a span of over three hundred meters and at the time of its construction was one of the world’s largest asymmetrical cable-stayed bridges. It proved to be a boon to the movement of traffic and alleviated the constantly congested nearby Phra Pinklao Bridge.

Bang O, does not have a great deal of entertainment or attractions, but it is a good area to commute into the city for area. Therefore properties are in demand.
