Bang Rat is one of six sub-districts belonging to Taling Chan District. As with its sister sub-district Bang Phrom, it borders on one end with Khlong Chak Phra sub-district and at the other end finishes at the Bangkok Western Outer Ring Road. Khlong Bang Phrom separates these two sub-districts.

Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market is one of the features of Bang Rat. It might be considered more of a riverside market as there are not many boats floating due to the fact that it is located on a narrow area of the canal.

That does not mean that it is not a great place to visit. Many people consider it the best floating market in Bangkok. It has been described as a food paradise. If you like freshly steamed or grilled seafood such as crab, prawns, clams and squid you have found the perfect spot.

The market is only open on the weekend and can be reached by taking a short taxi ride from the Wongwian Yai BTS Skytrain station. Children will also have a great time and they can even go for a pony ride.

The Thai Bar Under The Royal Patronage in Bang Rat is not somewhere to go and have a drink. It is actually a legal training institute of the Thai Bar Association. They have a legal library and provide lectures in preparation for taking the Bar exam.

The median list price for condos in Bang Ramat has fallen by 11.1% in the past year. The yield on rentals however is at a steady 5.4%.
