Bangyikhan Sub District

DISTRICT: Bang Phlat

POSTCODE: 10700

Bang Yi Khan lies northwest of the centre of Bangkok and is a sub-district of Bang Phlat.

Bang Yi Khan has fairly good transport links with the centre of Bangkok, there is a nearby MRT station at Bang Phlat and the area has a couple of river taxi stations for access.

The main road artery that runs through the district is Charan Sanit Wong which although gets frequently crowded does make road transport feasible.

One of the highlights for tourists is Pata Zoo which is a small private zoo that can be found on the 6th and 7th floors of the Pata Pinklao Department Store.

This boutique zoo has been in operation since 1983, with the 6th floor being devoted to reptiles, amphibians, and nocturnal animals. And the 7th floor containing birds, monkeys, Asian black bears, tigers, leopards, panthers, and jackals.

Retail therapy can be found at the Pata Pinklao Department Store, which apart from the zoo has many fashion outlets, food stalls, restaurants and clothing stores.

The transport infrastructure makes Bang Yi Khan a popular area for people who want to live in the city. The daily commute is relatively easy and the prices of property are reasonable.

There are several small housing estates and villages in Bang Yi Khan which include Ammarin Village, which is mostly traditional Thai housing at very affordable prices especially for Bangkok.

Bang Yi Khan is really a residential suburb, with good access to the rest of Bangkok. The transport links make is easy for a daily commute into central Bangkok.
