Bukkhalo Sub District

Bukkhalo sub-district is one of seven sub-districts that make up Thon Buri District. It is situated between the Chao Phraya River and Khlong Bangkok Yai though it does not border either one.

It is roughly shaped like a slice of pizza with the Silom BTS line running along one of its borders. The Pho Nimit station sits clearly in Bukkhalo.

Somdet Phra Pinklao Hospital is one of the features in the sub-district. Construction began in 1952 on an area of 181 rai. The hospital opened in 1957 with approval from the Navy and was called Bukkhalo Naval Hospital. In 1959 The Ministry of Defense approved the name change to Somdet Phra Pinklao Hospital.

The Mall Thapra is major shopping and dining centre in Bukkhalo. It is part of The Mall Group which includes Emporium, Em-Quarter and Paragon. The Mall Thapra was previously known as The Mall Thon Buri.

The Mall Thapra is just a three minute walk from the Talat Phlu BTS Skytrain station making it very easy for shoppers to get to.

There are over 40 dining establishments in the mall with several international brands featured.

The Bukkhalo property market has fallen slightly in the past year. The median price of a condo is currently 2.8 million THB. This is down 4.3% from the previous year. The median price to rent a condo in Bukkhalo is 12,600 THB which is currently returning a 5.4% annual yield.
