Khlongbangbon Sub District

DISTRICT: Bang Bon

POSTCODE: 10150

Agriculture plays a big part in Khlong Bang Bon and much of its produce can be found in the local markets and restaurants for local consumption.

Khlong Bang Bon is a sub-district of Bang Bon, and it can be found in the extreme south west from the centre of Bangkok.

Bang Bon was formerly a tambon of Amphoe Bang Khun in Thonburi Province, this was before the merger of Thonburi and Phra Nakhon into one single province. Bang Bon became its own district in 1997.

Khlong Bang Bon is on the outskirts of Bangkok and fairly remote and so the transportation network to the centre of the city is not good. You will not find the BTS or the MRT lines stretching out this far. However there are regular bus services that do connect it with the center of Bangkok.

Khlong Bang Bon has an almost village feel to it, the stores are small selling local goods with most residents going about their daily lives. There are few tourist attractions in the whole of Bang Bon district. There is a nearby car auction which at weekends bursts into life with the hurry and scurry of motor trading, and the sound of the auctioneer’s gavel.

The housing in Khlong Bang Bon is a mixture of townhouses and typical Thai houses. There are a few small housing estates dotted around but nothing of great note. Not many people use this area as a commuter belt into Bangkok because of the transportation network.

Near the villages of Ketsarin and Chinipha you can find Wat Bang Bon, which is a local monastery that has resident monks serving Buddha and the community.
