Agriculture plays a big part in Khlong Bang Phran and much of its produce can be found in the local markets and restaurants.
Khlong Bang Phran is a sub-district of Bang Bon, and it can be found in the extreme south west from the centre of Bangkok.
Bang Bon was formerly a tambon of Amphoe Bang Khun in Thonburi Province, this was before the merger of Thonburi and Phra Nakhon into one single province. Bang Bon became its own district in 1997.
Khlong Bang Phran is one of the outlying sub districts of Bangkok and so the transportation network to the centre of the city is not good. You will not find the BTS or the MRT lines stretching out this far. However there are regular bus services that do connect it with the center of Bangkok.
Khlong Bang Phran is very much a local community with most residents going about their daily lives, and there are few tourist attractions in the whole of Bang Bon district. The shops are mostly convenience stores, small markets or local businesses serving the community. Traders such as JJ Glass, The Market Place, JPK Garment Co, and Vivat Trading can be found around Soi Ekkachai.
There is a nearby car auction which at weekends bursts into life with the hurry and scurry of motor trading, and the sound of the auctioneer’s gavel.
The housing in Bang Bon Tai is a mixture of townhouses and typical Thai houses. There are a few small housing estates dotted around but nothing of great note. Not many people use this area as a commuter belt into Bangkok because of the transportation network.
