Khlongchakphra Sub District

Khlong Chak Phra is one of six sub-districts that make up Taing Chaan District. It is notable as it essentially a sliver of land that follows the path of Khlong Chak Phra canal. It extends all the way to the intersection with Khlong Bangkok Noi. The Taling Chan District Office is located in the sub-district.

In front of the district office is the Taling Chan floating market. It is becoming popular with tourists as it has the feel of being more authentic than some of the bigger markets. It is only open on the weekend, so you need to plan ahead.

The market sells locally grown produce, fish and a variety of other typical products. You can enjoy all manner of freshly prepared Thai foods. If you want a unique experience then consider an excursion from the market on a long tail boat to explore the local khlongs. If you just want to relax, consider getting a foot massage underneath the trees.

Khlong Chak Phra does not to seem to have a thriving real estate market, but there are interesting bargains to be had. The Bang Khunnon Tower is a condominium project not far from Khlong Bangkok Noi.

Here you can purchase a one bedroom condominium for less than 500,000 THB. The units are small at around 21 square metres, but it is in a good location and includes parking.
