DISTRICT: Bueng Kum
POSTCODE: 10240
Khlong Kum is a sub-district of Bueng Kum and is found to the northeast of Central Bangkok.
The main travel networks of Bangkok, namely the BTS and MRT do not service Khlong Kum, and most people who travel around the area do so by car or bus.
The main shopping mall that exists in the vicinity is The Nine Center Rama 9. Also close by is the Seri Market which has many stalls selling local fresh products such as fruit and vegetables.
The mall has a great food court, and parking is easy due to the well designed parking spaces. The food, coffee and snacks are particularly good in The Nine, and the retail outlets also offer most that a good mall should. The top floor is dedicated to a kids play area so your shopping excursion will not be spoiled by the little ones.
The Seri Thai Park is one of the main features of this district which also includes the Seri Thai Memorial Hall and Museum. On the fifty-second anniversary of the end of WWII, August 16th 1997 this park was officially named Seri Thai in honour of the Free Thai Movement who fought by the side of the allies during the Japanese occupation.
Accommodation in Khlong Kum is mixed with traditional Thai houses, small apartment blocks, and various housing estates. The cost of renting or buying is reasonable as far as Bangkok goes, but Khlong Kum is not really an option for commuting into Bangkok every day.
