Khum Thong is a sub-district of Lat Krabang and is located to the far east of the center of Bangkok. Khum Thong is north of Highway 7 and being one of the furthest sub-districts away from Central Bangkok it is only accessible by road.

Khum Thong is really close to Suvarnabhumi Airport and many people that live in the area work at the busy international airport.

The area is full of villages which include, Phumburi Village, Phraya Phey Village, and Wat Sutaphot Community Village

The housing is a mixture of traditional Thai architecture and modern detached brick homes.

The Suvarnabhumi Golf and Country Club is located just north of Khum Thong sub-district. The course is championship level and provides a stiff test for even the most competent golfers. Water features a great deal on many of the holes so a good short-iron game is useful.

There are two other good clubs in the vicinity also, Lakewood Golf and Country Club, and Thana City Country Club. Both clubs offer an airport pick-up service if you previously make them aware when you arrive.

Thana City Country Club is particularly good for fitness as it has one of the best fitness centres in Bangkok. Together with tennis, badminton, swimming pool, basketball, football, a hotel and a first rate restaurant.

Another place in the area that is well worth checking out is the Siam Serpentarium, and if you are interested in snakes it is a great place to learn more about them.

Khum Thong is a district for people who prefer to live outside the city. It has many sporting activities only a few minutes drive away and when you do want to commute into Bangkok it is roughly only an hour away.
