Lak Song is one of the four sub-districts of Bang Khae and lies directly west of the CBD of Bangkok. Lak Song is a major commuter belt into Bangkok and that is why you will find the roads packed and the rush hours at a standstill. The major artery of this district is Kanchanaphisek Road which to be truthful can be a nightmare to navigate.

Luckily all transportation does not depend on the roads, and close to Lak Song is the BTS station Wutthakat, which allows access to the whole Skytrain network and links to the MRT underground network too.

Lak Song like the other sub-districts of Bang Khae is a popular suburb to live due to its location and the great local amenities. Shopping includes the Wonder Department Store, Paseo Park, The Mall Bang Khae located on Kanchanaphisek Road, and Tesco Lotus Bang Khae.

The Wonder Department Store is located on Phet Kasem Road and although it is not a swanky mall such as The Mall Bang Khae it is highly popular with local residents. The many clothing outlets offer very reasonable prices, and the food stalls are cheap and serve great Thai produce.

Although there are not many other things to do than shop and drink coffee in Lak Song, there are a number of interesting bars and restaurants well worth trying out.

Lak Song has a real community spirit to it and is rapidly becoming a popular place to live in Bangkok. Its proximity to the CBD and good transport links make it a wise choice for the commuter.
