The sub-district of Rat Phatthana is one of three belonging to the Saphan Sung District. With a population of over 42,000 people, the sub-district has nearly half the total population of the district. The boundaries of the sub-district are not clearly defined on google maps, but i is likely it encompases Thanon Rat Phatthana and Soi Rat Phatthana Alley.

As part of Saphan Sung, the sub-district in eastern Bangkok is mostly residential. There are several khlongs that criss cross the area.

There are many places to stay in Rat Phatthana such as Tara Lake Hotel. It is roughly near the intersection of two khlongs, but there is no lake in sight. It is low cost and popular as it is not far from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The sub-district appears to encompass a stretch of Ramkhamhaeng Road and far enough beyond to include a boundary with Khlong Saen Saep. In this area you will find the Muna Shabu Buffet.

Muna Shabu offers a Halal buffet that offers diners the option of eating  indoors with air conditioning or outside in the open air. In the evening you can choose to enjoy rooftop dining.

There are many Shabu offerings to choose from along with appetizers and other dishes such as tempura and sushi along with fresh seasonal fruit.

If you are a fan of Shabu, then you will be pleased to learn that nearby there is an outlet of Shabu Shabu Nang Nai. This is also a buffet style restaurant and there are several of them around Bangkok.
