The sub-district of Saphan Song is one of four sub-districts of Wang Thonglang District. The district was established in 1997 followed by a small boundary change with Lat Phrao in 2002. Saphan Song shares part of its border with Lat Phrao.

Consistent with its former ties with Lat Phrao, Saphan Song is home to the Lat Phrao Post Office and Lat Phrao 71 Apartment. The FlicK Football Soccer Club is also located here. This features a football field where local teams play and invites spectators.

There are two public Thai schools located in the district. Thanormpitvithaya School is a primary school while Nawaminthrachinuthit Bodindecha School has students from grade 7 to grade 12. Established in 1992, Nawaminthrachinuthit Bodindecha School is the third of the Bodindecha school group. The school has 3,000 students and is ISO 9002 accredited.

The well known Chokchai 4 food market is located in the heart of the sub-district. It features a night market and is an extremely popular place to eat with both locals and foreigners. There are many types of cuisine and seems to have something for everyone.

Nearby, you can find Papaya Design Furniture and Studio. It is a museum like antique store that occupies 4 stories and contains over one million pieces including furniture and household articles.

Originally opened in 1977, the Papaya team travels to Europe every three months. There they meticulously sift through and select items to be brought back to Thailand and the Papaya studio. It is well worth your time to make a visit.
