Bang Bamru is situated in the northwest of Bangkok and is a sub district to Bang Phlat.
The area is serviced by the MRT transport system and there is an MRT station at Bang Phlat. Charan Sanit Wong highway also runs through the district which adds to the transport access.
Bang Bamru has its own train station, with trains from the SRT Light Red Line and the Southern Main Line stopping there. All trains stop at this station which is approximately eleven miles from central Bangkok.
The services which use Bang Bamru are to Surat Thani, Hua Hin, Sungai Kolok, Yala, Trang, and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Shopping in Bang Bamru is restricted to local convenience stores and markets. Although there are some interesting local places to eat and drink.
Housing is a mix of traditional Thai architecture and townhouses, with a few housing estates dotted about. It is affordable and many people live in Bang Bamru and commute daily into the centre of the city.
There are two interesting temples in the area, Wat Kharuehabodi and Wat Bowon Mongkhon. With probably Wat Kharuehabodi being the most popular for visitors to explore as its location by the river is really special.
