Bang Chak is just one of seven sub-districts that make up Phasi Charoen District which is on the west side of the Chao Phraya River. The closest BTS station is the Bang Wa station which is only a short distance from the sub-district boundary.
Bang Chak in Phasi Charoen should not be confused with the other Bang Chak sub-district which is in the Phra Khanong district on the other side of the Chao Phraya River. It should be noted that the Bang Chak BTS Skytrain is in the other sub-district not this one.
Ratchapruek Road is the main thoroughfare that runs through the sub-district. It seems to start roughly at the Wongwian Yai BTS Station where the road changes its name. The BTS System follows the path of Ratchapruek Road with four stations when the line ends at Bang Wa station but carries on through Bang Chak and beyond.
The Bang Phalia canal flows through the district. It terminates at the border of the sub-district near the Bang Chak School. The Bangchak canal is another canal flowing through the Bang Chak past the Sirikarn Apartment.
Sirikarn Apartment is representative of the affordable cost of accommodation in Bang Chak. On their website they advertise both daily and monthly rates from as little as 1,500 THB per month.
Siam University is also located in Bang Chak. The address actually says that they are in the sub-district of Bang Wa, but the map boundary would suggest that is incorrect. Sometimes it can be difficult to precisely determine sub-district boundaries.
