Bangwaek Sub District

DISTRICT: Phasi Charoen District

POSTCODE: 10160

Bang Waek is just one of seven sub-districts that make up Phasi Charoen District which is on the west side of the Chao Phraya River. The closest BTS station is the Bang Wa station which is within the district, but not very convenient to Bang Waek. Its northern border follows an irregular shape as it runs along the Bang Chueak Nang canal. Ratchaphruek Road runs north south through the sub-district and connects it to sister sub-district Bang Chak.

Bang Waek Road runs east to west through the centre of the district. Much of the shopping and dining options are clustered along or near the road with several sois running off the main road.

One of the main temples in the sub-district is Wat Tano. The temple was built in 1910 and occupies 2 rai of land. There are 29 monks residing at the temple.

Another temple is Wat Chai Chimplee which has ent its name to the Wat Chai Chimplee Market. This is partly a flea market and is said to have all manner of tools and gadgets catering to the male population. It is also a fairly standard Thai market with all types of food available for hungry shoppers.

There is also the Wat Chai Chimplee School. This is an elementary school that is right on Khlong Bang Waek.

Medical services in Bang Waek are available at Intermed Hospital. The hospital first opened in 1994 and are ISO 9001 certified.
