Khlong Maha Nak sub-district is one of the five sub-districts that make up the district of Pom Prap Sattru Phai. Like other sub-districts in Pom Prap Sattru Phai, at one end it borders Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem. At the other end is Worachak Road. Its border parallels sister sub-district Wat Thep Sirin. The main geographic feature of this sub-district is the canal running through the middle of it. The canal is the Phanta Bridge Water Gate which begins shortly before Worachak Road and extends well past Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem where it changes names as it passes through other districts.

A visit to the Varadis Palace Museum and Library will enable you to discover a collection of priceless collection of Thai and foreign language books. German Architect Karl Dohring built the palace in 1911. The palace is the former residence of Prince Damrong Rajanupharb. The prince passed away in 1943 but the palace was preserved by one of his heirs. In 1977 it was renovated and converted into a library and museum with the elder sister of King Bhumibol presiding over the opening ceremony.

Hua Chiew Hospital opened some 80 years ago. It started as a midwife delivery facility in 1938. It moved to its current location following the end of World War II. Over the past 10 years the hospital has invested some 1.5 billion THB. The money went to upgrading both the building as well as the medical infrastructure. In addition to a newborn referral centre, they also now have an eye centre and a cardiovascular centre.
