Khlong Ton Sai Sub District

DISTRICT: Khlong San

POSTCODE: 10600

Khlong Ton Sai is a sub-district of Klong San and is located to the northwest of the center of Bangkok. It is located right next to the Chao Phraya river, and the area is one of the oldest areas of the capital.

The area has a good transportation network as it is serviced by the Skytrain with nearby stations of Wongwain Yai, and Krung Thonburi. There is also a major bus hub on the west side of the river.

There are many things to see Khlong Ton Sai and tourists flock to see attractions such as the Princess Mother Memorial Park, Wang Li House, Tha Din Daeng Market, Sinn Sathorn Tower, and Pong Patchamit Fort.

If it is retail therapy you are looking for then ICONSIAM is where to head to. Situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River this multipurpose development contains a huge shopping mall (actually two, the IconSiam and IconLuxe), as well as residences and hotels.

There is even an indoor floating market and a modern cinema complex the Icon Cineconic.

The complex is also home to two of the tallest buildings in the Thai capital, namely the 52-storey Mandarin Oriental Residences and the 70-storey Magnolias Waterfront Residences.

The development has a riverside park, and a riverside walkway along the Chao Phraya River.

Being one of the oldest parts of Bangkok, Khlong Ton Sai has many interesting temples in the vicinity. Wat Anongkharam, Wat Sawettachat, Wat Phichai Yat, Wat Thong Thammachat and Wat Thong Nopphakhun.

Other great places to see when visiting this area are, the fort at Pong Patchamit and Tha Din Daeng market.

There are piers not far from Bang Lamphu Lang that offer ferry boat services on the river which again make this area really accessible and that is why it is a sought after location to live, but prices reflect all this and are high.
