Located right next to Don Mueang district, Lak Si is another northern district of Bangkok. Lak Si means fourth milestone, because the district is situated at the fourth milestone of the Khlong Prem Prachakon canal that was contructed during the reign of King Chulalongkorn. The canal was an important link from Bangkok to Bang Pa-in.

Lak Si does not have any MRT or BTS stations, in fact the nearest is around 10 kilometers away. So getting to and from this district can be tricky. There are frequent bus services to this northern part of Bangkok but these often get caught up in the notorious Bangkok traffic jams.

Because of this not many commuters select Lak Si as an area to live in, most people who live in the district work at Don Mueang Airport.

The only real shops that you find in Lak Si are local convenience stores and local artisan type businesses. The nearest mall to this district is Central Plaza Ramindra, which is around three kilometers away and only reachable by car or bus.

There are no real tourist attractions in this district of any note, and it is very much one of the quieter districts of Bangkok.
