Pom Prap sub-district is one of the five sub-districts that make up the district of Pom Prap Sattru Phai. At one end its border extends to Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem. At the other end is Worachak Road.

Wat Mangkon Kamalawat is one of the most famous Mahayana temples in Bangkok’s Chinatown. When it was opened in the 1870’s it was called Wat Leng Noei Yi. It was later renamed by King Rama V to Wat Mangkon Kamalawat which means Dragon Lotus Temple.

The temple is Chinese style architecture with the main entrance has statues depicting the four guardians of the world. There are several shrines in the temple with Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian deities.

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration General Hospital or BMA Generaal Hospital has its home in Pom Prap. The hospital is some 120 years old. In the early days when the hospital had only 12 beds they sought to rent a hospital house to treat prostitutes. Today the hopspital provides both in and outpatient services to the people of Bangkok and those up country. they also have a radiology section and a Lasik centre.

Khlong Thom Centre was locally known the past as flashlight market due to the fact that you needed on to be able to view the the goods. The market is extremely crowded on Saturday evenings. There are many stalls with vendors selling a variety of second hand goods and other products. Lost of things to explore here. The market is open once a week for 24 hours from 5:00 pm on Saturday and closing at 5:00 pm Sunday
