Rong Mueang is a sub-district of Pathum Wan and is located in the center of Bangkok. And due to its location there are many MRT and BTS stations close to Rong Mueang such as Hua Lamphong, Sam Yan, Si Lom, and Lumphini on the MRT, and Siam for the BTS. Cutting through the centre of Rong Mueang is the Sirat Expressway.

Rong Mueang is a prestigious address and many embassies have chosen to be located near here, including Japan, Switzerland, UK, and the USA.

If you are keen on shopping then in and around Rong Mueang are some of Bangkok’s most prestigious shopping malls and department stores. Including Siam Discovery, and Siam Paragon.

There is also the famous MBK Center that is connected by a pedestrian bridge over the Phaya Thai Road to Bonanza Mall.

Quite different to the other malls is Siam Square, this block of buildings has many small sois packed with shops and retail outlets. There are also two modern cinemas located here.

One of the biggest intersections in the vicinity is Ratchaprasong, which is flanked by Central World, Big C, and Central Chit Lom malls.

Also in the area is the oldest university in Thailand, Chulalongkorn. The auditorium and the Arts Building are recognized for their impressive architecture.

Another main tourist attraction around Rong Mueang is the Jim Thompson House, which is a complex of Thai wooden houses. He was an American who helped develop the Thai silk industry.

There are many important temples and religious building also in this district together with some of the finest apartment and condominium developments in Bangkok.

Around Rong Mueang are some of the most expensive real estate buildings in the capital, and it is one of the most sought after areas to live in Bangkok.
