DISTRICT: Khlong Sam Wa
POSTCODE: 10510
Sia Kong Din is a sub-district of Khlong Sam Wa which is one of the extreme outlying districts to the northeast of Central Bangkok.
Not being particularly close to the centre of Bangkok there are no MRT or BTS services to Bang Chan. And the only way to get to this part of northern Bangkok is by bus or car, with Highway 9 bordering the district to the west.
There are not too many tourist places in this part of Bangkok, notably two amusement parks Siam Park City and Wari Phirom Park are highly popular. Safari World can also be found near Sai Kong Din.
There are many villages in Sai Kong Din and the area is very rural. Phaisan Village, Kristada Nakhon Village, Rattanawalai Village, and Sirikon Village are just some of the local settlements in this district.
If you are interested in golf then one of the best courses around is Thanont Golf Club. It is a great place to play golf or just to lounge around and relax. There is a challenging eighteen hole course and a wonderful housing development on the same location.
The course was designed by the American Bob McFarland and the beautiful course and the housing development are surrounded by water. Most of the holes on the course require a strategy to complete them.
The surrounding area is very rural with a few trading estates dotted around. Housing is divided between villages and small new housing estates.
Occasionally there are a few large convenience places such as Big C, and Tesco Lotus on the main roads. The other retail outlets are local businesses that sell all manner of convenience and building goods.
Not many tourists venture this far from Bangkok as it takes around an hour and that is if you don’t get caught up in the notorious Bangkok traffic.
