This huge district of northeast Bangkok is also one of the most densely populated of all Bangkok’s districts with a population of nearly two hundred thousand people, more than most towns in Thailand.

Many of the activities in this district are rural and agricultural, however Bang Chan was chosen as an area of study and education.

Two big attractions in Khlong Sam Ya are Safari World, and Wari Phirom Park. Safari World is a world-class tourist attraction that actually consists of two parks, Marine and Safari.

Developed in 1988 Safari World covers a massive area of nearly 500 acres, with 180 acres devoted to a bird park. The main attractions of this wonderful leisure complex is of course the marine park and the zoo.

Most people decide to drive to Safari World from Bangkok as there are really no public transport links apart from a regular bus service.

A drive through the Safari Park takes a leisurely hour to complete the five miles, of course depending on who you meet on the way, the daily lion and tiger feeding shows are most popular also.

The Marine Park has a wonderful collection of animals from the land, sea, and air. Attraction include the Jungle Cruise River Ride, which is an exciting journey through the jungles of Asia and Africa. There are seven shows daily of the marine creatures as well as action stunts, water skiing, Hollywood cowboy shows, orangutan boxing, crocodile gardens and the rare white tigers.

Because of the lack of a transport infrastructure Khlong Sam Ya tends not to be a part of the commuter belt of Bangkok. Most people live and work in the district, but because of this housing is extremely reasonable.
