Saikongdintai Sub District

Saikongdintai Sub District

DISTRICT: Khlong Sam Wa

POSTCODE: 10510

Sai Kong Din Tai is a sub-district of Khlong Sam Wa which is one of the extreme outlying districts to the northeast of Central Bangkok.

Not being particularly close to the centre of Bangkok there are no MRT or BTS services to Bang Chan. And the only way to get to this part of northern Bangkok is by bus or car, with Highway 9 bordering the district to the west.

The main road that runs through Sai Kong Din Tai is Pracha Ruam Chai Road which is to the south of the sub-district. Highway 304 leads out further to the east.

Not too far away is Mahanakorn University of Technology on Chueam Samphan Road. Founded in 1990 with the objective to train students in engineering as there was a severe shortage at the time in Thailand.

It features four faculties, engineering, information science and technology, veterinary medicine, and business administration.

There are not too many tourist places in this part of Bangkok, notably two amusement parks Siam Park City and Wari Phirom Park are highly popular. Safari World can also be found near Sai Kong Din Tai.

There are many villages in Sai Kong Din Tai and the area is very rural. Prapawan Village, Ruen Ruedi Village, Simin Village, and Phet Mani Village are just some of the local settlements in this district.

There are a few Big C outlets dotted around on the main roads, but apart from that the shopping is restricted to local convenience stores..

If you are interested in golf then one of the best courses around is Thanont Golf Club. It is a great place to play golf or just to lounge around and relax. There is a challenging eighteen hole course and a wonderful housing development on the same location.

The surrounding area is very rural with a few trading estates dotted around. Housing is divided between villages and small new housing estates.

Not many tourists venture this far from Bangkok as it takes around an hour and that is if you don’t get caught up in the notorious Bangkok traffic.
