Wang Mai is a sub-district of Prathum Wan and is located in the center of Bangkok. And due to its location there are many MRT and BTS stations close to Wang Mai such as Hua Lamphong, Sam Yan, Si Lom, and Lumphini on the MRT, and Siam for the BTS.

In the centre of Wang Mai is the famous MBK Center which is perhaps Bangkok’s most popular mall, for both tourists and locals. There are eight floors packed with with over two thousand retail outlets.

You can buy almost anything at MBK from mobile phones, furniture, luggage, leather products, fashion clothing, electric appliances, etc. MBK’s popularity is that is offers true bargains, it is not as glitzy as the nearby malls of Siam Discovery or Siam Paragon but is packed out with shoppers every day.

Also situated in Wang Mai is the Faculty of Law building of Chulongkorn University. And of course the impressive National Stadium sports arena.

If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax and eat then I’m Park is a smaller mall set among greenery that is full of coffee shops and restaurants. It is more like an eating mall than a shopping mall and calls itself a buffet-hub.

The temple of Wat Hua Lamphong is to be found on Thanon Rama IV, which is a place of serene beauty in the heart of the city. This is a large temple complex that has several buildings including prayer halls and the monks lodgings.
