Agriculture is a big part of the economy of Bang Bon and the district is famous for producing coconuts, Doc Mai mangoes, lotus flowers, and orchids.
One of the most famous buildings in the district is Wat Bang Bon, which is a beautiful temple that attracts many locals and visitors alike.
Bang Bon is in the Southeast of Bangkok, and as a district it is fairly recent, only being formed in 1998, and it was the last office to be made of the fifty districts of Bangkok. The office was first located near the Thepyada Arak market but was moved to its current location at Ekkachai Road.
The district boasts its own five thousand capacity stadium, which is named the 84th Anniversary Bang Bon Stadium or it is also sometimes referred to as the Charlem Phrakiat Bang Bon Stadium and it was built to honour the 84th birthday anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The prices of the properties for sale and rent in Bang Bon are far more reasonable than more central areas of Bangkok. And many commuters prefer to live in Bang Bon and work in the city. The most sought after location is around the BTS station Bang Wa, as from there you can easily access Sathorn, Silom and the rest of Central Bangkok.
Most life in Bang Bon is situated on the main Ekachai-Bang Bon Road, and here you can find restaurants, shops and markets.
