Bang Khun Si is a sub-district of Bangkok Noi and can be found to the northwest of Central Bangkok.

This area is not connected to the major transport networks of the BTS or the MRT, and most people get around either by bus or river boat taxi.

The area has no major department stores or shopping malls, and most commerce is centered on small local stores and markets.

There is a strong community feeling to Bang Khun Si, and most eateries serve Thai food which is cooked to perfection. A small selection of other cuisines can be found either at the markets or by specialist restaurants.

For major retail therapy you will have to travel to Central Plaza Pinklao that has a great selection of fashion outlets and many coffee shops and food stalls. You can also find a multi screen cinema located directly opposite this mall.

Because of the lack of a transport network, Bang Khun Si is fairly overlooked when it comes to housing and accommodation. Most real estate is made up of traditional Thai architecture, townhouses, and small apartment blocks.

Therefore accommodation can be found that is very reasonably priced as far as Bangkok is concerned, but few tourists or foreign workers visit or commute.
