Huamak Sub District

DISTRICT: Bang Kapi

POSTCODE: 10240

Hua Mak is one of the inner sub-districts of Bangkok and is part of Bang Kapi district. It is hardly surprising to learn that there are many great shops and tourist attractions that can be found in Hua Mak.

Nearby is Ramkhamhaeng University, and close to it you can find a great Night Market. As you would expect it is crammed full of students taking advantage of the really cheap but delicious food stalls, and the quaint little places selling cheap clothing and other goods.

If you are looking for jeans, shoes or T-shirts at really reasonable prices then Tawanna Market on Latphrao Road is a must.

As Hua Mak is close to the centre of Bangkok there are good transportation links to the CBD. The MRT station Asok is located close to Hua Mak and gives access to the rest of the Skytrain and Underground services.

Hua Mak Station is an airport link station that can be found on Srinagarinda Road, and there are future plans to link the station via the MRT Yellow Line at Phatthanakan Station.

If it retail therapy that you want then The Mall Bang Kapi, The Mall Ramkhamhaeng, Bic C Hua Mak, and Bang Kapi Market are all nearby.

For youngsters the jewel in the crown is The Mall Bang Kapi, as it has a rooftop waterpark, which is designed for the under ten year olds. There is also a fountain and fish ponds to keep the shoppers busy.

Cultural attractions are many in this bustling sub-district with Wat Bueng Thong Lang, Wat Phra Kaisri, Wat Thep Leela, Wat Chanthawongsaram, and Wat Sri Bun Rueang all located in and around Hua Mak.

Accommodation in Hua Mak is slightly cheaper than Central Bangkok and is mixed, there are small condominium developments and Thai houses. Because of its location and its transport links it is an up and coming area for commuters and prices are rising.
