Thanon Petchaburi is one of four sub-districts that make up Ratchathewi District. It shares a border with at least two if its sister sub-districts Thung Phaya Thai and Thanon Phaya Thai. The BTS Sukhumvit line runs through the sub-district with one station Ratchathewi.

Chalermla Park is an area famous for its street art. Here you will see brightly painted murals on the sides of buildings. It is located near the BTS Skytrain station and is only a few minutes walk.. It is run by local government and owned by the Express Authority of Thailand. The works can change over time so it is like the art is a living expression that can change over time. The park is open from 5:30 am to 7:00 pm daily.

If you are looking for something a bit different, check out Co Co Walk. It is an alleyway of pubs, bars and restaurants and is located near the Ratchathewi BTS station. There are over a dozen bars to be found here, but it is not a place with lots of girls like Nana or Soi Cowboy. If you get hungry, walk to the back and try Shuba Shaba where you can enjoy a Korean /Japanese barbeque.

Currently there are hundreds of condos available on the market in Thanon Petchaburi. This may partially be the reason that the median price for condos in the sub-district has fallen by 7% in the past year. Rental returns remain relatively strong with condo rentals returning 4.2% per year.
