Bang Lamphu Lang is a sub-district of Klong San and is located to the northwest of the center of Bangkok. It is located right next to the Chao Phraya, and the area is one of the oldest areas of the capital.
The area has a good transportation network as it is serviced by the Skytrain with nearby stations of Wongwain Yai, and Krung Thonburi. There is also a major bus hub on the west side of the river.
There are plenty of places of interest when visiting Bang Lamphu Lang such as the King Taksin Monument which is surrounded by Wongwian Yai a huge circle built in 1932 that acts as a roundabout.
Other notable attractions are the Princess Mother Memorial Park, where you can find the Guan Yu Shrine in the Thang Nguan Hah Vintage House. The park first opened it gates in 1997, by the revered King Bhumibol Adulyadey in remembrance of his mother.
The park not only contains an impressive array of plant life and trees but also a reproduction of the Princess Mother’s childhood home. There are also two exhibition halls with all manner of memorabilia and a statue of the princess.
Being one of the oldest parts of Bangkok, Bang Lamphu Lang has many interesting temples in the vicinity. Wat Anongkharam, Wat Sawettachat, Wat Phichai Yat, Wat Thong Thammachat and Wat Thong Nopphakhun.
Other great places to see when visiting this area are, the fort at Pong Patchamit and Tha Din Daeng market.
There are piers not far from Bang Lamphu Lang that offer ferry boat services on the river which again make this area really accessible and that is why it is a sought after location to live.
